Family adventure holidays

October 18th, 2007

In Southern Estonia there is created home for half natural, half fairy tail characters, Pokuland. The Fairyland’s purpose is to give children (and also their parents) opportunity to experience all that undamaged nature can offer.

Pokuland

  • Pokuland is home for Pokus, animated sedge tussocks, a typical feature of the area. Artist and writer Edgar Valter has brought Pokus to life in his book „Pokubook”.
  • Pokumaa is made for children, to show how to become friends with nature and live so that both the nature and the person felt well.
  • Currently visitors of Pokumaa can go on several exciting and fun hiking trail. It is possible to order a guide, who shows a small group of children points of interest in Pokuland.
  • Pokuland differs a lot from other traditional fairylands that do not have an organic connection with natural environment.

Pokuland is situated at the borders of the Võrumaa and Põlvamaa counties and also of Urvaste and Kanepi parishes and it covers 55,7 ha.
